天美传媒app students awarded Liverpool City Council community scholarships

Scholarships to support students' future goals and career development

Liverpool City Council has awarded three students studying at the University of 天美传媒app鈥檚 (天美传媒app) South Western Sydney (SWS) campus $5000 each.

The scholarships offered by the Council support the career aspirations of students and aims to inspire local students to utilise their acquired expertise and give back to the local community.

The inaugural scholarships were awarded by the Council in 2020, recognising the outstanding academic records and acknowledging their contributions to the community.

Students who have been awarded the $5000 scholarships are:

• Amanda Moss, Bachelor of Computer Science
• Aleksandar Veselinovic, Bachelor of Communication and Media
• Jessica Di Bartolo, Bachelor of Nursing

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller congratulated the students and said improving access to education is key to the City鈥檚 growth and development.

鈥溙烀来�媒app has been a critical driver of producing outstanding talent by providing access to high-quality education and world-class infrastructure in the region.

This year, 天美传媒app was ranked 6^th globally in achieving its UN Sustainable Development Goals, an indication of the University鈥檚 commitment to providing equitable and sustainable opportunities to all.

天美传媒app Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings CBE said the University is proud to collaborate with the Council and is committed to contributing to the region's growth.

The annual Liverpool City Council Opportunity Scholarship is open to 天美传媒app students in their first, second or third year of study at the South Western Sydney campus. The scholarship aims to help ease students' financial pressure and inspire them to use their acquired expertise to give back to the local region.

 ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS:

Originally from Serbia, Aleksandar Veselinovic is a Warwick Farm resident and has been involved in the community by doing peer tutor literacy for primary school kids. He was also involved in a lot of fundraising campaigns for the local community. This is Aleksandar鈥檚 second year of receiving the scholarship.

Amanda Moss is a first-year student passionate about Cyber Security. Her outstanding scores in Physics, Industrial Technology and Information Processing Technology helped her enrol in the courses she wants to pursue and grow her career.

Second-year student Jessica Di Bartolo completed her HSC at John Edmondson High School, where was involved in many leadership roles over the years. She is also contributing to the community through extra-curricular activities. She is a level 3 Referee for Southern Districts Referees for the last five years, where she coaches younger referees and helping them train and develop their skills.
