Event to showcase the vibrant campus life and interactive activities

The University of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app (ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app) will host its signature ‘Welcome to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app’ event tomorrow, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for its newest international students.

Newly arriving students will experience the best of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app as it approaches its 50th anniversary, celebrating the diverse community that makes ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app a truly global institution.

The event will provide an opportunity for students to hear from senior ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app leaders, faculty representatives, and ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Lord Mayor, Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar AO said international students are an integral part of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app community and bring unique cultural perspectives to the University.

“To our international students – welcome to the University of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app! You’ve made a wonderful choice, and we're thrilled to have you here,” Professor Dewar said.

“By joining ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app, you are now part of a global student community of over 35,000 people, spread across nine campuses in Australia and internationally – from the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore to India.

“We couldn’t be happier to have such a rich international student community at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app. The unique perspectives you bring, the cultural richness you add, the diversity you represent – these elements are the things that make our University truly special.”

Students will get insights into the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app’s campus and academic offerings, the importance of community engagement, and the exciting developments on the horizon as ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app approaches its milestone anniversary.

After the formal proceedings, students and guests will have the chance to participate in cultural activities, networking and social opportunities. A variety of stallholders will also be present, offering information and resources to support students throughout their time in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app.
